General remarks
The tubers are oval, the skin and flesh colours are yellow, and the eyes are very shallow. The dry matter content is rather low.
The consumption quality is good. Cooking type is A and no discoloration after cooking. Suitable for table potatoes in Europe where a firm cooking type is appreciated.
Maturity
Dali is a medium early variety with a medium early tuberisation.
Seed treatment
The seed mustn’t be stored too cold (not in cold store) and in time pre-sprouting is necessary to get a fluently emergence.
Fertilisation
The Nitrogen requirement is average. Be careful with the application of organic fertiliser.
An extra Potassium application is to advise.
Cultivation
It is not advisable to grow Dali on too heavy soils.
Advised planting density:
seed size 35/45 mm: 45.000 - 50.000 plants per hectare
seed size 45/55 mm: 42.000 - 45.000 plants per hectare.
This variety is not sensitive to Sencor. The emergence and starting development are very slow. In the beginning there is little foliage development, but lateron reasonable covering. The number of stems is average. The number of tubers per plant is rather high, which results in a high yield. The grading is somewhat irregular. It is recommended to start early with Phytophthora treatments and to repeat this very regular.
Harvest
When the crop is mature and the skin is set, harvest will not cause problems if you lift Dali with care.
Storage
Dali has a very long dormancy period and stores well.
Resistance to diseases
Dali is resistant to golden nematode Ro1 and wart disease. The variety is moderate resistant to Phytophthora in the foliage and in the tubers.
The resistance to scab is good. Dali is not susceptible to blackspot, but rather susceptible to mechanical damage.
The resistance to virus Yn is very good; the resistance to Leafroll is good.
