General remarks
Adora is a first early consumption variety. The texture is fairly firm. There is no discoloration after cooking and the dry matter content is moderate. Adora has short oval to oval tubers with a smooth pale- yellow skin and creamy flesh colour. Adora has rather shallow eyes, rather bulky uniform size with a good yield, especially when lifted early. Suitable for early potatoes in Europe.

Maturity
Very early.
Seed treatment
The tubers of Adora should not be planted straight from cold storage. Adora has a rather long dormancy. Sometimes a heat treatment might be necessary. When the tubers are out of dormancy and sufficiently warmed up, pre-sprouting is not necessary. Adora can be planted with small white buds. For a very early crop, pre-sprouting is useful. As soon as the small buds are visible, the seed-tubers should be well ventilated and exposed to daylight and rather low temperatures. This will harden the sprouts. Ideal pre-sprouting produces strong, 1 - 1,5 cm long sprouts. Take care the sprouts are not damaged during planting.

Fertilisation
Requires more (15 %) than an average N-fertilisation. A divided dose is possible, but be aware to spread the top dressing right after tuberisation. A good Potassium (K) fertilisation is also advised.
Cultivation
This variety needs a good soil structure. Do not plant too early in cold soils. Adora has rather few stems and a rather low number of tubers per plant, therefore narrow planting distance is recommended. Because the tubers of Adora grow relatively deep, a rather superficial planting depth is recommended. This variety seems to be only slightly susceptible to Sencor. Rapid emergence and rather quick early development, covering the soil moderately well in a later stage. Regular treatments against Phytophthora are necessary to avoid an infection. Adora has a very early tuber initiation and can be lifted very early with a good yield after 75 / 90 days.
Harvest
Adora is hardly susceptible to internal bruising and mechanical damage. If the tubers are lifted with care, harvest does not need to cause problems.
Storage
In spite of the early maturity, Adora has a good dormancy and stores well.
Resistance to diseases
Adora is resistant to potato cyst nematodes Ro1 + Ro4 (A). Somewhat susceptible to foliage blight but rather good resistant to tuber blight. This variety is slightly susceptible to common scab. Fairly resistant to Fusarium. Good resistance to internal bruising and mechanical damage.
